Hosted by China Investment Corporation (CIC), the “CIC Forum 2021 - Cross-Border Investment & International Industrial Cooperation Conference” was held on October 21, 2021 in Beijing. The theme of the CIC Forum 2021 was “New Modalities for Cross-Border Investment to Serve the New Development Paradigm of Dual Circulation”.

Senior representatives of government departments, financial institutions and enterprises from dozens of countries around the world gathered together to share their insights on new investment modalities in the post-pandemic era, cross-border investment and international industrial cooperation under the new development model, as well as investment themes and investment cooperation in key industries.

The CIC Forum 2021 featured an ESG roundtable and four parallel sessions.At the ESG roundtable, attendees had in-depth discussions on ESG investment opportunities and challenges round the globe, how institutional investors should put ESG investment concepts into practice, etc.With the theme of “Energy Transformation and Modern Logistics”, the parallel session on New Infrastructure focused on energy transformation, industrial development and investment cooperation opportunities under the twin goals of “carbon peak and carbon neutrality”, along with the development of traditional and new logistics.Themed “Healthcare Investment under the New Paradigm”, the parallel session on healthcare highlighted opportunities and challenges we faced in biomedicine investment and cross-border healthcare cooperation under the new situation.The theme of the parallel session on consumer goods and services was “Innovation Leading New Consumption”, addressing topics such as new opportunities brought by consumption upgrading in the Chinese market and how to seize investment opportunities in the post-pandemic consumer industry.The parallel session on Agriculture and Food, with the theme of “Technology Improving Quality of Life”, mainly discussed the upgrading of the agri-food supply chain and the development of new business formats in the agri-food sector under new circumstances. Meanwhile, the CIC Forum 2021 also organized a number of “one-on-one” networking sessions.

CIC Executive Vice President Mr. Guo Xiangjun, Mr. Qi Bin and Ms. Zhao Haiying, and CIC Executive Committee Members Mr. Bao Jianmin and Mr. Liu Yanbin, attended and presided respectively over different sessions of the CIC Forum 2021. Department and team heads of CIC participated in the discussions. Government officials of China and heads of major global financial institutions and enterprises took part in the forum either physically or virtually.
